Dirt

Today

I've read that the most important thing in writing is to write every day. I modify this and say: to write a little bit every day

I once asked my sister's guru when I would understand the meaning of life. He said: you will learn a little bit about it every day you live

There is something about today. About the here now. About this result of the serenity prayer: that I can't control you, and I can't control tomorrow or yesterday, but what I can control is me in this moment right here right now—today

It makes life simpler: to think about right now instead of thinking about the past and future. I can't write a book right now. I can't write a book today. But I can write 100 words, or 200 words, or 1000 words, today. That's all I can do. I can't make a photo portfolio today. I can charge my camera, put it in my pocket, and walk around the Earth, and look at beautiful things

That's all I can do

That's what I can do

That's what I am doing today
